PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a polymer capable of attaining the reduced discharge of volatile organic compound(VOC) and the minimum gel formation. SOLUTION: This method for preparing a polymer comprises (a) providing an open system reactor, (b) substituting air in the reactor with steam, (c) closing the system, (d) feeding at least one monomer to the reactor, (e) reacting at least one monomer in the reactor to form a polymer, (f) transporting the polymer to an external loop by a pump under high operation pressure and returning the polymer through a heat exchanger to the reactor.
