<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic placement and routing apparatus which reduces unnecessary relocation and rerouting to enable efficient placement and routing and also prevents the occurrence of a timing error accompanying relocation or rerouting, and to provide an automatic placement and routing method. <P>SOLUTION: A relocation cell discrimination section 8 is constituted so that a cell is not to be treated as a cell to be rearranged in the case when only a cell identifier differs and the other data are in agreement, in addition to the case when a cell identifier, a cell type name, a pin name of the cell and all signal names given to the pin are in agreement. A rerouting signal discrimination section 9 is constituted so that a signal is not to be treated as a signal to be rerouted in the case when only a signal name differs and the other data are in agreement, in addition to the case when a signal name 22, a pin name to which the signal is given, a cell identifier of the cell which has the pin, and all cell type names of the cell are in agreement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
