<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data erasing method of an optical disk, with which characteristic deterioration caused by heat is suppressed, and provide an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: This method includes a first step of erasing data from an optical disk by irradiating the optical disk with the light of multistage power; a second step of obtaining its RF signal by irradiating the area of the erased data with the light; and a third step of calculating the erasing power of a light which causes the amplitude of the RF light obtained in the second step of the optical disk to be a predetermined value or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
