It is intended to provide a dental caries risk assessment means which is simple and has sufficient accuracy and a good preserving property. It is a method of performing dental caries risk assessment by obtaining a ratio of mutans streptococci count (MS ratio) to the total streptococci count in an oral sample collected from an individual, characterized by culturing streptococci using a slant culture medium.
