PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of equipment and also the system operation cost in a mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: When the communication is carried out between a general fixed telephone network 40 and a mobile station 20, the channel that is not used at every base station 30 for communication with the station 20 is assigned as a channel to transmit the signals to a base station 30-6 which takes charge of the communication between an exchange station 10 and a mobile station 20-6. The header part of every channel slot contains the information on the sender and the sending destination of the corresponding channel slot, and every station 30 takes out only the signal that is addressed to its own station and transmits the signals of other channel slots as they are by a transmitter. Therefore, the station 30-6 can receive the call signal that is sent to the station 20-6 from the station 10 by using the base stations 30-4 and 30-5 as relay stations. |
