PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device such that even when defects are caused in a glass substrate after a polarizing plate is laminated on the surface of a liquid crystal cell, the substrate can be repaired. SOLUTION: The defect 16 caused in the edge of a glass substrate 12 constituting a liquid crystal cell 10 is filled with a UV curing resin 18 having 500 cp viscosity, and then the resin is hardened.
