A handsfree control device and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to listen to the other side's voice clearly without any special manipulation by automatically adjusting the volume of the other side's voice according to surrounding noises. If a driver's voice signal is inputted to a handsfree control device, a signal processor delivers the inputted voice signal to a communication part after pre-processing, echo cancellation, noise cancellation, and post-processing. At this moment, the signal processing part separates the voice signal into a voice interval and a noise interval and extracts the characteristics of noises from the noise interval(S11). Based on the extracted noise characteristics, the signal processing part cancels noises from the inputted voice signal. If a voice signal is received from the other side, the voice signal is transmitted to the communication part through wireless communication. The communication part forwards the received voice signal to a control part. The control part obtains a volume level value corresponding to the extracted noise characteristics from a preset volume table, and appoints the obtained volume level value as a volume control level value of a volume control part(S12). The volume control part adjusts the volume of the received voice signal according to the appointed volume control level value(S13).
