Provided is a fuel tank system such that fuel vapor discharged from a fuel tank can be reduced with little power consumption. The fuel tank system is provided with: a fuel tank 11 installed in a vehicle; an electromagnetic open/close valve 20 which is disposed in a communication passage (19, 21) for providing communication between the inside and outside of the fuel tank 11 and opens or closes the communication passage; a control device 30 for controlling the opening/closing of the electromagnetic open/close valve; and physical quantity detection sensors (25, 26) for detecting predetermined physical quantities (temperature T, pressure P) of the fuel tank. When the physical quantity has risen to a predetermined value (P1) or above (step ST11: Yes) while the vehicle is in a predetermined state (refueling is completed or engine is stopped) (step ST1: Yes) and after the electromagnetic open/close valve 20 has been switched from the open position to the closed position (step ST3), the control device 30 switches the electromagnetic open/close valve 20 from the closed position to the open position (step ST12) and then switches the electromagnetic open/close valve 20 from the open position to the closed position (step ST14) after the inner pressure of the fuel tank 11 is brought to atmospheric pressure P0 (step ST13). |
