The braking unit has a brake setting unit (12) which is provided to adjust a braking action as targeted. The brake setting unit is provided with a braking element (14) for changing material property based on the set braking action. The brake setting unit is provided with a field generating unit (18). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) vehicle; and (2) method for operating vehicle braking unit.
