Expanded polystyrene and a process of forming foamed polystyrene articles from said expanded polystyrene are described herein. The expanded polystyrene includes polystyrene which is homopolymer and selected from expandable polystyrene and extrusion polystyrene, the polystyrene exhibiting a molecular weight Mof from 130,000 to 200,000 Da; a melt flow index of from 25 to 30 g/10 min, as measured with ASTMD 1238, terms 200°C/5 kg and a density of from 0.0016 g/cm(0.1 lb/ft) to 0.16 g/cm(10 lb/ft), and wherein the expanded polystyrene exhibits a density of from 0.0016 g/cm(0.1 lb/ft) to 0.16 g/cm(10 lb/ft). |
