<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required for call connection in a radio communication system in which a mobile station device and a base station device communicate by radio. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile station device executes an intermittent reception operation in a standby state, transmits a connection request signal with another mobile station device to be called to the base station device by radio, stops the execution of the intermittent reception operation by responding to the reception of the intermittent reception stop signal transmitted from the base station device by radio for executing continuous reception operation, and executes call to another mobile station device that becomes a transmission source according to the reception of a connection response signal to a call destination transmitted from the base station device by radio.
