PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a homopolar motor may use only a half of magnetic flux densities that are generated within a device and requires a double cubic volume as much as another device such as a synchronous reluctance generator.SOLUTION: A homopolar motor-generator 101 comprises: a core assembly 104 including a stator 110; a plurality of stator rings that are disposed around a central axial line; an armature coil that is fitted with slots of the stator rings; one or more field coils each of which is disposed around the central axial line; a rotor 102 that is positioned in an outer circumference of the stator 110. The rotor 102 includes a plurality of rotor segments 106. Each of the rotor segments 106 forms a magnetic circuit between the stator rings including first and second slots, and each of the rotor segments 106 is separated from the other rotor segment 106 by a nonmagnetic material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
