PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forgery prevention medium authenticity determination method and a device for the same capable of performing highly accurate authenticity determination on a forgery prevention medium.SOLUTION: There is provided a forgery prevention medium authenticity determination method that is provided to solve the above problem by: preparing a forgery prevention medium comprising a selective transmission layer and a luminescent layer laminated on the selective transmission layer and containing a phosphor that absorbs an electromagnetic wave having a specific wavelength of the wavelength regions ranging from an ultraviolet region to an infrared region and emits the other electromagnetic waves having wavelengths different from the electromagnetic wave, the selective transmission layer having selective permeability of absorbing or reflecting the electromagnetic wave and transmitting the other electromagnetic waves; placing the forgery prevention medium such that an observer faces a luminescent layer side or a selective transmission layer side of the forgery prevention medium; and emitting the electromagnetic wave to the luminescent layer side or the selective transmission layer side of the forgery prevention medium, thereby to determine the authenticity of the forgery prevention medium using a change in shape of the other electromagnetic waves observed by the observer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
