PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser processing method for a sheet metal which produces little deposition of dross and is easy of peeling off deposited dross when sheet metal processing is executed by using multiwavelength laser beams, and a laser processing apparatus for executing the same.SOLUTION: When a sheet metal with a thickness of 2 mm or more is to be cut, a condenser lens having a focal distance f≥150 mm with a focal point Pf disposed by -2.0 mm<Pf≤about 0.0 mm with a top face of the sheet metal used as a reference is used to irradiate the sheet metal with parallel laser beams from a DDL module. When a sheet metal with a thickness of less than 2 mm is to be cut, a condenser lens having a focal distance f≤120 mm with a focal point Pf disposed by 0.0 mm<Pf≤2.0 mm with the top face of the sheet metal used as a reference is used to irradiate the sheet metal with parallel laser beams from the DDL module.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
