The invention relates to a method for assembling a windscreen wiper mechanism (26) comprising a plate (36) for supporting a driving shaft (32) having a longitudinal main axis (B) and pertaining to a wiper blade, on an inner face (22a) of a structural body element (22) and through an opening (34) of the same. Said method (22) successively comprises a step for positioning the support plate (36) in relation to the inner face (22a) of the structural body element (22), and a step for fixing said plate (36) to said inner face (22a) of the structural body element (22). The inventive method is characterised in that the positioning step and the fixing step each consist of a movement of the plate (36) in relation to the structural body element (22) according to and/or about the same direction. The invention also relates to an arrangement for fixing a wiper mechanism (26) according to one such method.
