At least one buccal and/or distal pair of facets (8,9) associated with the hump (6) in at least one of the molars (1,2) and the trench (7) in the chewing surface in at least one of the molars have a substantially larger surface area than the pair of facets (11,12) oriented in the opposite direction. At least one of the molars is provided with a hump received by a trench in the chewing surface of the opposite molar when the dentures are bit together. The trench can consist of a number of separate trenches in each molar, or it can be formed by a number of cooperating trenches in the molars. Both the humps and trenches have essentially flat facets, at least two of which lie above each other when the hump is received by the trench during biting.
|
