PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with special steering turns such as a lateral-direction movement and a small-radius turn without employing a complex mechanism in a vehicle providing four wheels each with a steering angle.SOLUTION: A steering device includes: a pair of rack bars 53 and 54 respectively connected to tie rods 12 and 22 of left and right wheels w; synchronous gear devices 57 for converting movement in one right/left direction of the one rack bar 53 into movement in the other right/left direction of the other rack bar 54; a rack bar operation means 60 capable of moving the pair of the rack bars 53 and 54 in mutually opposite directions; synchronous gear boxes 66 capable of holding the synchronous gear devices 57 and moving in the right/left direction; a rack case holding the pair of the rack bars 53 and 54 and fixed to the fame side of a vehicle 1; and a pair of fixing mechanisms 80 held by the rack case and arranged on both ends of the synchronous gear boxes 66.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
