摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which AF focusing can be performed even in a low illuminance environment and even in a low-luminance subject.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: auto-focus means 101 performing focus detection on the basis of the contrast of image signals from imaging means 103; luminance information acquisition means 101 for acquiring luminance information of a subject from the image signals; auxiliary light means 106 for irradiating the subject with auxiliary light when the subject is darker than prescribed brightness during an auto-focus operation; lens information acquisition means 101, 105 for acquiring information on brightness of a lens and lens information including a lens drive speed during auto-focusing; predicted lighting time arithmetic means 101 for computing a predicted lighting time being a predicted value of lighting time of an auxiliary light which is lit during auto-focusing from the luminance information and lens information; and current value arithmetic means 101 for computing a current value to be made to flow to the auxiliary light from one or more predetermined lighting prohibition time at which the lighting of the auxiliary light is prohibited and the predicted lighting time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
