<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element for an optical pickup which can be easily and highly accurately assembled and assures favorable optical characteristics, and an optical pickup using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element 10 for the optical pickup has an objective lens 1 for converging luminous flux, an aberration correction means 2 for correcting aberration, and a holder 6 for fixing the relative position of the objective lens 1 and the aberration correction means 2.
