<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, in which the interruption of printing process due to recovery toner conveyance is minimized and printing time is minimized, even when printing consecutively a large number of sheets of paper. <P>SOLUTION: A toner recovery discharge member 70 is disposed in contact with and opposite to an image carrier 10, and rotated in the same direction as that of the image carrier 10. A bias voltage Vc with an AC voltage of a frequency f[Hz] superposed on the DC voltage is applied to the toner recovery discharge member 70.
