<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data input device for enabling not only a user who has difficulty in developing any operation force necessary for the hand and finger but also an able-bodied person to accurately, easily and quickly input the information of three-dimensional coordinates. <P>SOLUTION: This data input device is provided with a turning shaft means 7 formed so as to be turned right and left with respect to a main plane section 6 of a base stand 5; an operation arm 8 mounted on the turning shaft means 7, and formed so as to be rocked up and down to the main plane section 6; and a rotation roller 9 formed in an operation arm 8, and formed so as to be rotated back and forth by the fingertip. This data input device is provided with an angle of rocking detection means 10 for detecting the angle of rocking of the operation arm 8 in the case of the rocking operation of the operation arm 8; an angle of turning detection means 11 for detecting the angle of turning of the turning shaft means 7 cooperating with the turning operation of the operation arm 8; and an angle of rotation detection means 12 for detecting the angle of rotation by the rotating operation of the rotation roller 9.
