PURPOSE:To take information for control out of video data after restoration by providing a control information extracting circuit with a conversion table which corresponds to the contents of many data block, and selecting and outputting control data corresponding to control data blocks decoded by a control data converting circuit. CONSTITUTION:Video data DV are converted by a blocking circuit 11 into data blocks and the information DcB for control is also inserted in the form of data blocks. The data blocks from the blocking circuit 11 and the information DcB from a control information inserting circuit 31 are processed through the orthogonal transformation of a trailing-stage orthogonal transforming circuit 12 into coefficient data blocks, which are requantized by a trailing-stage requantization processing circuit 13 to adjust the data compression quantity. The circuit 13 separate DC components and AC components into binary series and the quantization level from the circuit 13 is processed by entropy encoding by using a trailing-stage entropy encoding circuit 14 and stored in a recording magnetic head 5 as compressed videos dv. |
