PREPARATION OF PREMOLDING PART CONSISTING OF SPIRALLY WOUND FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a simple preformed part composed of spirally wound fibers which reduces manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: Fibers are wound around a truncated cone-shaped mandrel 4 many times and covered with a temporary thermoplastic binder 11 to form a conical coating film 12 and detached from the mold after the binder is solidified. Next, the conical coating film 12 is heated on a plate while crushed and the fiber winding 7 is struck out to one plane. Whereupon, a vortex is formed and the binder 11 is removed. When a plurality of the vortex fibers thus formed stacked, a ring of a composite material can be produced.
