PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable and simply constituted displacement-type machine in which over-expansion can be suppressed even through an expansion volume ratio is very large, wasteful power consumption of an expansion device is prevented, reduction in recovered power of the expansion device is suppressed, and a high efficiency is attained reliably in the condition of a wide range of operation pressure. SOLUTION: In the displacement-type machine, an operation chamber 7 of a part of the expansion device is allowed to communicate with a discharge side (a discharge pressure space 18 and a discharge pipe 11) through a differential pressure actuated valve 15 which allows only a flow of a working fluid from the discharge side into the direction of the operation chamber. Thus, in the case when the pressure of the operation chamber is reduced lower than the pressure of the discharge side due to expansion of the working fluid, the working fluid on the discharge side is supplied to the operation chamber through the differential pressure actuated valve.
