<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of an external storage device by maintaining power supply when the external storage device holds reserved job information in transition to a sleep mode. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 112 decides whether or not a HDD 132 stores a reserved job (S304). Then, when the HDD 132 stores the reserved job, whether or not there are A hours or more to the reserved time is decided (S305). Then, when there are A hours or more, a power control part 502 turns power supply of the HDD 132 OFF and an image processor transits to the sleep mode.
