1. An adaptor configured to use or drop erroneous packets, comprising:
the adaptor configured to receive a first packet from a packet switching network comprising at least two network hops; the first packet comprises a first header, a first payload, a first bad-CRC-notification propagation field, and a first error detection field; wherein the first bad-CRC-notification propagation field indicates occurrence of a reception error on a network hop preceding the network hop directly connected to the adaptor, and the first error detection field does not indicate reception error on the network hop directly connected to the adaptor; the adaptor is further configured to determine, based on analyzing the first header, that the first packet is addressed to a first application, and to drop the first packet; the adaptor is further configured to receive a second packet comprising a second header, a second payload, a second bad-CRC-notification propagation field, and a second error detection field; wherein the second bad-CRC-notification propagation field indicates occurrence of a reception error on a network hop preceding the network hop directly connected to the adaptor, and the second error detection field does not indicate reception error on the network hop directly connected to the adaptor; the adaptor is further configured to determine, based on analyzing the second header, that the second packet is addressed to a second application, and to enable an end-device coupled to the adaptor to use erroneous data stored in the second payload; the adaptor is further configured to receive a third packet comprising a third header, a third payload, a third bad-CRC-notification propagation field, and a third error detection field; wherein the third bad-CRC-notification propagation field indicates occurrence of a reception error on a network hop preceding the network hop directly connected to the adaptor, and the third error detection field does not indicate reception error on the network hop directly connected to the adaptor. |
