PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for obtaining a polymer/liquid crystal composite material with low driving voltage and short response time.SOLUTION: There are disclosed a mixture of a liquid crystal composition comprising achiral liquid crystal component A and a chiral compound expressing an optically isotropic liquid crystal phase, one or more monomer compounds expressed by general formula (1), and a monomer having a mesogen site; a polymer/liquid crystal composite material is obtained by polymerizing the mixture. In formula (1), Wis H or CH-(CH)-; Wis -(CH)-, optional -CH- in Wand W, each independently, may be substituted by -O-, -S-, trans-CH=CH- or cis-CH=CH-, however two oxygen atoms are never adjoined to each other, and there is no case of making -C=C-O-, -C=C-S- and -C=C-C=C-; P, Pand Pare each independently H or methyl; mM1 and mM2 are each independently an integer of 0-20. |
