<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely design and arrange a supporting axis 22 and a torsion coil spring 30 without being restricted by each other. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic document carrying apparatus 2 is provided with an apparatus body 4, a switching body 20 supported by the apparatus body 4 to freely rotate around a supporting axis 22 between a closing position and an opening position, and a torsion coil spring 30 to energize the opening and closing body 20 positioned to the closing position thereof in the opening direction.
