The device comprises a base plate (1) for resting on the floor or an underlay, a first upright rod (5) pivotally joined to the base plate and supporting a bearing axle (7) at a distance above the base plate, and a second horizontal rod (8) pivotally mounted on this axle so that one of its ends (8a) protrudes slightly from the axle. This short end of the second rod is provided with a coupling (9) for attaching it to the object being moved.
