<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably forming an image all the time by preventing output failure of a piezoelectric transformer type high-voltage power supply device by a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a voltage application member applied with an output voltage from the piezoelectric transformer type high-voltage power supply device and an application timing control means for controlling the timing for applying the output voltage of the piezoelectric transformer type high-voltage power supply device to the voltage application member, in which the voltage application member can be switched between an abutment state and a separation state with respect to an object. When applying the output voltage to the voltage application member after the completion of the switching operation into the abutment state or the separation state of the voltage application member, the timing for applying the output voltage of the piezoelectric transformer type high-voltage power supply device is controlled so that the piezoelectric transformer type high-voltage power supply device applies the voltage to the voltage application member after the completion of the switching operation into the abutment state or the separation state, via a state in which the voltage is not output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
