The present invention provides a near-infrared-absorbing material including: a luminescent agent, and a near-infrared-absorbing compound obtained by oxidizing a compound represented by the following formula (II): wherein R²¹¹, R²¹², R²²¹, R²²², R²³¹, R²³², R²⁴¹ and R²⁴² each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group or an aromatic group; R²⁰³, R²¹³, R²²³, R²³³ and R²⁴³ each independently represent a substituent group; and n₂₀₃, n₂₁₃, n₂₂₃, n₂₃₃ and n₂₄₃ each independently represent an integer from 0 to 4.
