PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for a vehicle for easily grasping position relationship between a destination and a current position even when approaching the circumference of the set destination. SOLUTION: The navigation device for the vehicle displays to enlarge the display contraction scale of a map screen M the nearer the vehicle is to the destination when the current position P approaches the destination D by advance of the vehicle on the map screen M displayed on a display device 10, and restricts the enlargement by fixing the display contraction scale when the display contraction scale reaches a prescribed proper limit display contraction scale.
