PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data archive system capable of analyzing a pattern of a degraded part of an optical disk and the number of years that has elapsed or a degree of degradation, and preventing unnecessary consumption of the optical disk.SOLUTION: A data archive system 10 includes a library unit 103 that records or reproduces data in or from plural recording media 113, and a server 100 that administers the library unit 103. A control unit of the server 100 determines as an inspection range of the recording medium 113, which is inspected to check the recording quality of data recorded by the library unit 103, the entire surface of the recording medium 113 or a predetermined inspection area, transmits an execution request for a quality inspection to a quality inspection execution block 119 of the library unit via a library I/F 107, and determines based on a result of the quality inspection, which is received via the library I/F 107, whether all data items on the recording medium or part of the data items should be shifted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
