<p>For installing a dry material paper filter (35) on the filter cage (20) of an electric vacuum cleaner, a disk of porous paper filtering material or of cloth type fabric (35) is laid over the panel enclosing the bottom (24) of the filter cage (20) and a ring (40) is pressed up over the paper or cloth filter (35) and over the panel. As the ring (40) is drawn up over the filter cage (20), it folds and presses the paper or cloth filter (35) around the filter cage (20). At the top of the filter cage (20), the ring (40) secures the filter (35) to the cage (20). An additional filtering sleeve (30) may be disposed around the filter cage (20) before the filter (35) is installed over the cage (20) and over the sleeve (30) with the attachment ring (40). The sleeve (30) may be of foam or other wet material filtering material. The filter (35) installed with the ring (40) is of dry filtering material, like paper or cloth. A marking or disk (38) at the center of the filter (35) helps a user place the filter (35) over the filter cage (20) before the ring (40) is used to fold the filter (35) into place.</p> |
