<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a larger area for a user's finger or other input pointer by inputting data via a keyboard having a key which is arrayed as a hexagonal cell. SOLUTION: A hexagonal soft keyboard is shown on a touch screen and facilitates input of the data given from a small touch screen area. Most of the keys have the complete hexagonal shapes like 'H', etc., and exceptionally 'A', etc., of the highest row and the keys of the lowest row have the shapes adaptive to a rectangle. This keyboard can save its space and never wastes its corner spaces which are not used. As a result, the size of the keyboard can be reduced and the size of character written on every key can be increased. A hexagonal shape is laid out so as to set the apexes at its upper and lower sides instead of the edges, so that a sufficient space is vertically secured for every character.</p> |
