PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new N-sulfenylamino acid ester compound and to provide a method for producing the compound. SOLUTION: The N-sulfenylamino acid ester compound represented by general formula (a) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is an atom or a group selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group and an aralkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is an alkyl group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>is an atom or a group selected from an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a halogen atom and a nitro group; R<SP>4</SP>is an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; n is an integer of 1-10; and m is an integer of 1-4) is produced from an N-sulfenylbenzimidazole compound and an amino acid ester compound.
