PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate checking of a vehicular rear side by a side mirror. SOLUTION: In the rear side checking device, a mirror of the side mirror 2R is made to be a half mirror 5, and a liquid crystal display 4 is disposed on a back surface 52 side of the half mirror 5. An area in which a vehicle body part of a vehicle is reflected in a mirror surface on the basis of mirror angleθor a viewpoint position of a driver is specified. On the other hand, concerning a rear side image of a vehicle body obtained by a camera photographing the vehicular rear side, a viewpoint is changed to a viewpoint position of the driver, and a part matching the area is extracted from the image. In an area corresponding to the area, an extracted image is displayed in the display 4.
