PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an illegality concerning the payment of the passage toll of a toll road. SOLUTION: A toll collecting system is provided with a first antenna 8 executing radio communication to obtain vehicle kind information and vehicle register number information recorded in on-vehicle equipment 6 which is mounted on a vehicle 22, a vehicle kind judging device 24 judging the kind of the vehicle 22 from the actual information on the vehicle 22, obtaining vehicle kind information, picking-up the image of a license plate attached to the vehicle 22, image- processing it and obtaining register number information of the vehicle 22 and an exit gate controller comparing register number information recorded in on-vehicle equipment 6 with register number information judged by the device 24 and updating vehicle kind information recorded in on-vehicle equipment 6 into vehicle kind information judged by the device in the case of a difference between the two kinds of register information. |
