PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting fitting which facilitates the operation of connecting scaffold materials together, and which reduces deflection when a bending-direction load is imposed on the vicinity of the connecting implement in the state of connecting the scaffold materials together. SOLUTION: This connecting fitting for a butt portion of the rod-like scaffold material connects the rod-like scaffold materials 2 and 2, adjacent to each other in the direction of extension, in a state in which the scaffold materials are arranged in such a manner that end surfaces of them butt against each other. The connecting fitting comprises an approximately tubular holding portion 3 in which butt ends of both the scaffold materials 2 and 2 are housed, and a pair of fastening fitting portions 4 and 4 which are provided at both the ends of the holding porion 3 so as to hold both the scaffold materials 2 and 2 in a sandwiching state by fastening the outer peripheries of both the scaffold materials 2 and 2. The holding portion 3 comprises a gutter-like retainer member 5, and a cover member 6 which is arranged in the state of covering a gutter-like opened portion of the retainer member 5. A one-side edge of the retainer member 5 and that of the cover member 6 are pivotally attached to each other, so that the gutter-like opened portion of the retainer member 5 can be freely opened/closed by means of the cover member 6.
