PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cellulose-coated pigment that has moisture absorption and retention abilities, excellent feel in use and excellent dispersibility in an aqueous system. SOLUTION: The cellulose-coated pigment is produced by dispersing viscose and a pigment and then heating or using an acid to directly coat the surface of a pigment with regenerated cellulose having a crystal structure of cellulose II.
