<p>Information processing apparatus and communication apparatus that allow a base station to accurately recognize the current reception quality of a mobile terminal and to exhibit an improved throughput. A mobile terminal (61) determines its own reception quality based on a signal received from a base station (62), produces a reception quality message indicative of the reception quality, and produces, based on the signal received from the base station (62), a power control information requesting an adjustment of the transmission power of the base station (62). The produced reception quality message and power control information are transmitted to the base station (62) frame by frame and slot by slot, respectively, where slots constituting a frame. The base station (62) estimates, based on both the reception quality message and power control information, the current reception quality of the mobile terminal (61) and performs, based on the estimated values, an application modulation encoding. The present invention may be applied to cellular phones and base stations.</p> |
