摘要 An information processing apparatus is configured to make access to a storage device via a first path. A virtualization control apparatus is configured to control access to a virtual storage device via a second path, where the virtual storage device is provided by virtualizing the storage device. The virtualization control apparatus sends an identifier of the storage device in response to a query from the information processing apparatus which requests information about a storage space that is accessible via the second path. The information processing apparatus incorporates the second path as an inactive standby path when the identifier received as a response to the query matches with an identifier of the storage device accessible via the first path.

A storage system comprising: an information processing apparatus configured to make access to a first storage device via a first path; and a virtualization control apparatus configured to control access to a second storage device via a second path, the second storage device being provided by virtualizing the first storage device, wherein the virtualization control apparatus includes a first control unit configured to send an identifier of the first storage device to the information processing apparatus in response to a query from the information processing apparatus which requests information about a storage space that is accessible via the second path, and wherein the information processing apparatus includes a second control unit configured to incorporate the second path as an inactive standby path when the identifier received as a response to the query matches with an identifier of the first storage device accessible via the first path, the second control unit sends the query twice, as first and second queries, to the virtualization control apparatus, the second control unit incorporates the second path as an inactive standby path when the identifier received as a response to the second query matches with the identifier of the first storage device accessible via the first path, the first control unit is configured to send an identifier of the second storage device in response to the first query and send the identifier of the first storage device in response to the second query; and the first control unit recognizes data migration when there are two queries from the second control unit as to the storage space relating to a same path and the first control unit informs the second control unit of the identifier of the first storage device which is a real storage device identifier.
