METHOD FOR FLAME RETARDANT PROCESSING OF FIBERS

PURPOSE:To prevent a touch feeling and washing durability of fibers from being deteriorated even in using a vinyl phosphonate oligomer solution as a flame retardant material, polymerizing the solution with electron rays and carrying out the flame retarding processing of the fibers. CONSTITUTION:This method for flame retardant processing of fibers is to apply a solution prepared by blending 20-100 pts.wt. microcapsules containing a flame retardant material using an organic substance as a wall material with 5-100 pts.wt. vinyl phosphonate oligomer and 100 pts.wt. solvent to fibers such as the fibers or a woven fabric, dry the applied solution and irradiate the dried film with electron rays at 0.5-5 Mrad and polymerize the vinyl phosphonate oligomer. The amount of the solution is 80-120% based on the basis weight of the fibers.
