The air conditioning system, especially for a motor vehicle, has a housing giving air channels (9) and containing an evaporator (2) and a heater (3). A cold air bypass (6), after the evaporator, is opened and closed by a flap (21) at the end of the bypass. When the flap is fully open, the cold air is divided into a number of part-flows to be mixed with the warm air flow.
