PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a good fitting state regardless of a state where a fitting part looses its shape due to secular change, when a tool holder is fitted to a spindle of a machine tool. SOLUTION: The tool holder is provided with a pull stud bolt 4 clamped to a clamp mechanism on the machine tool side inside a spindle tapered hole of the machine tool and receiving tensile force; a tapered part 2 fitted to the tapered hole; a piston rod 7 connected to the pull stud bolt 4; a piston 8 connected to the piston rod 7; fluid pressure expansion (hydraulic expansion sleeves 6, 9) provided in the outer peripheral part of the tapered part 2; and a fluid pressure passage (hydraulic passage 5) receiving pressing force of the piston 8 and applying fluid pressure to the fluid pressure expansion sleeves (hydraulic expansion sleeves 6, 9) via fluid from the inner peripheral side toward the outer peripheral side.
