PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have insulation breakdown hardly happen, by bending projections in the axial direction so that a specified space may be left over between the projections and the peripheral edge of a piezoelectric element, and coating part of the space and part of the peripheral edge of the laminate which does not overlap the projections with an insulating layer. SOLUTION: An actuator has a laminate constituted of a plurality of metal thin plates M having projections P put between a plurality of piezoelectric elements S and a plurality of connecting narrow band-like electrode thin plates A1, A2,... which are joined to the bent ends of the projections P and are extended in the stacking direction. Each of the projections P is bent in the axial direction so that a specified space may be left over between the peripheral edge of the piezoelectric elements S and the projections and part of the space and part of the external surface of the laminate which does not overlap the projections P are coated with a single- or multi-layer insulator layer R. It is preferred that part of the external surface of the laminate which does not overlap the projections P should be coated with an insulating sheet T before the multi-layer insulator layer R is formed. By this method, insulation breakdown hardly appears. |
