PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a glass substrate that specifies the cause of surface unevenness formed on sheet glass and reducing formation of surface unevenness by removing the cause.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a glass substrate comprises: a molding process of molding molten glass MG supplied from a processing device 101 for molten glass by a molding device 200 so as to form sheet glass SG; a detection process of detecting an unevenness amount of surface unevenness formed in a conveyance direction of the sheet glass SG; an analyzing process of analyzing the composition of the sheet glass SG when an unevenness amount larger than a predetermined reference value is detected; a specifying process of specifying an occurrence position of the cause of the surface unevenness at the processing device 101 or molding device 200 based upon the analyzed composition; and a solving process of removing the cause at the generation position so as to reduce surface unevenness.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
