The present invention relates to a recording medium having a program to provide a low delay live content recorded therein, and an apparatus thereof, to perform a motion picture experts group (MPEG) media transport (MMT) based streaming service according to a user request or a switching request into a specific channel when providing a streaming service of live content based on an MMT technique, so as to realize efficient operation with a legacy system. According to the present invention, when a streaming request event for a certain channel occurs, it is determined whether an event condition for switching into a low delay live broadcasting mode is satisfied. Dependent on satisfaction of the event condition, transmitting a streaming request to a first streaming server providing a streaming service based on a first media transport technique, a streaming data packet transmitted from the first streaming server is received, decoded and reproduced, or transmitting the streaming request to a second streaming server providing a streaming service based on a second media transport technique, a streaming data packet transmitted from the second streaming server is received, decoded and reproduced. |
