PORTABLE BICYCLE SUPPORT STAND

The present invention is a portable bicycle support stand comprising of at least one wheel support member and a pair of base members adapted to releasably couple with the wheel support member. The wheel support member consists of two parallel inverted U-shaped rod members that are joined by one, preferably two, cross members that keep the rod members substantially vertical and sufficiently spaced-apa rt horizontally to accept a bicycle wheel thereby supporting a bicycle. Each ba se member comprises openings adapted to receive the ends of the inverted rod members and hold them in place without having to use tools assemble the support stan d. The base members are adapted to join with other base members to extend the width of the support stand and the number of bicycles it can support. The support stand i s disassembled by simply removing the wheel support members from the base members. The compactness of the support stand components allows them to be placed in a carrying bag for easy storage or cartage to a new location.
