A magnetically operated switch consisting of one or more encapsulated electrical switches actuated directly by one or more inner magnets which are operated by one or more external magnets polarized to repel the inner magnets. The housing which encapsulates the inner magnet(s), the switch(es) and the surrounding circuitry is constructed to have at least one substantially planar position which is of non-magnetic material. The encapsulated magnet operated switch is useful for equipment located in hostile or hazardous environments. |
